Once again, the Summer Opera School confirmed its status as a precious space for artistic growth, knowledge exchange, and the fostering of community among new generations of opera singers.
Participants – high school and university students of solo singing – engaged in daily workshops that covered all aspects of artistic expression: from vocal technique and solo performance, to stage interpretation, improvisation, ensemble work, public rehearsals, and concerts.
Working with experienced mentors and artists from the world of opera, theatre, and classical music gave young singers the opportunity to develop their skills, receive concrete guidance for their future progress, and – most importantly – to feel supported and safe in their journey of artistic maturation.
Petnica once again proved to be a deeply inspiring setting – far from the noise of the city, yet rich with space for focus, meaningful encounters, and creative dialogue. This unique combination of natural serenity and dedicated work gave the 2025 school its special atmosphere and tone.
The Summer Opera School 2025 gained an additional dimension through the simultaneous realization of the international project Creative Vibes, supported by the Western Balkans Fund, which brought together young musicians from across the region.
Though distinct in structure, the two programs naturally intertwined through joint rehearsals, concerts, evening gatherings, and musical improvisations – creating an authentic artistic environment and strengthening regional cooperation.
The overall experience was further enriched by the final concerts held in Petnica and Valjevo, mentoring sessions, evening musical jams, and organized visits to cultural and historical landmarks – from the Museum in Valjevo and Brankovina, to local galleries and walking tours through the city’s history. These activities added depth and lasting impressions for all participants.
The Summer Opera School 2025 successfully continued its mission – to empower and inspire young artists, provide a high-quality artistic space, and contribute to the growth of a new generation of opera singers.
In synergy with the Creative Vibes project, the program demonstrated how art transcends borders, connecting diverse talents and perspectives into a vibrant cultural whole.

Gratitude & Organization
We extend our deepest thanks to our devoted organizers – Svetlana Milutinović, Matea Trivić, and Biljana Jovanović – whose dedication, thoughtful logistics, and warm approach made it possible for participants to enjoy a comfortable, safe, and stimulating environment.
Special thanks to the Petnica Science Center, which, once again, was much more than a host – it was a true partner in creating an atmosphere of growth, openness, and inspiration.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our donors – LIDL, NIVEA, the City of Valjevo, and our partners from Valjevo’s museums and cultural institutions – whose generous support enriched the program, provided quality meals, participant gifts, and a meaningful stay in Valjevo, setting a strong example of the importance of supporting young artists’ education.
The Summer Opera School 2025 was not just an educational program – it was an experience that transforms, connects, and empowers.
We look forward to new encounters with joy and anticipation.
